Incretin-Related Therapies: Targeting the Underlying Physiology and Cardiometabolic Factors of Type 2 Diabetes

Obesity has led to a growing number of patients with type 2 diabetes, many of whom have insulin resistance. This supplement will describe the physiology of incretin hormones in type 2 diabetes, discuss the risks and benefits of incretin-based therapies, and suggest a treatment plan to control hyperglycemia, obesity, and long-term complications.

Rheumatoid Arthritis eJournal Club

The RA eJournal Club is a CME-certified review of the recent RA scientific literature. Participants will listen to Leonard Calabrese, DO, and the lead author discuss the findings during this 30- to 45-minute activity.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Virtual Grand Rounds

This online virtual grand rounds series presented in cooperation with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation addresses current issues related to the use of biologic therapies in the treatment of RA. Each expert faculty presents current data relative to a specific patient care issue and applies this information via presentation of a case study. The activity director for the series also provides commentary at the close of each case study and is available to respond to questions posed by activity participants once they have completed an activity. The activity is directed to rheumatologists and other health care professionals interested in the care of patients with RA.
